Good morning all,
 I hope your week is going well as everyone gets closer to the end of the school year...on Thursday, I'll be visiting two schools, Inwood & Elbert Elementary schools which are always so much fun...it's been a very bust month for me as next week I'll be in Miami for two days....it's so much fun to visit the schools, it should slow down a little in the summer but I still manage to find ways to stay involved....go to the subject link for all the latest....wishing you a wonderful day...we have to remember to always do our best, enjoy everything we do, live in the present, smile & have fun! Gabe

SpaceX's Dragon cargo spacecraft splashed down at 3:05 p.m. EDT Sunday, May 18, 2014 in the Pacific Ocean, approximately 300 miles west of Baja California, returning more than 3,500 pounds of NASA cargo and science samples from the International Space Station. Investigations included among the returned cargo could aid in better understanding the decreased effectiveness of antibiotics during spaceflight while also improving antibiotic development on Earth. Others could lead to the development of plants better suited for space and improvements in sustainable agriculture. The T-Cell Activation in Aging experiment, which also launched to space aboard Dragon, seeks the cause of a depression in the human immune system while in microgravity. The research could help researchers develop better protective measures to prevent disease in astronauts. Image Credit: SpaceX

NASA and its international partners now have the go-ahead to begin construction on a new Mars lander after it completed a successful Mission Critical Design Review on Friday.
NASA's Interior Exploration Using Seismic Investigations, Geodesy and Heat Transport (InSight) mission will pierce beneath the Martian surface to study its interior.

Hubble Sees Starbursts in the Wake of a Fleeting Romance<http://links.govdelivery.com:80/track?type=click&enid=ZWFzPTEmbWFpbGluZ2lkPTIwMTQwNTE2LjMyMjU0MTcxJm1lc3NhZ2VpZD1NREItUFJELUJVTC0yMDE0MDUxNi4zMjI1NDE3MSZkYXRhYmFzZWlkPTEwMDEmc2VyaWFsPTE2ODc5NzEyJmVtYWlsaWQ9Z2VvcmdlLmdhYnJpZWxsZS0xQGtzYy5uYXNhLmdvdiZ1c2VyaWQ9Z2VvcmdlLmdhYnJpZWxsZS0xQGtzYy5uYXNhLmdvdiZmbD0mZXh0cmE9TXVsdGl2YXJpYXRlSWQ9JiYm&&&100&&&http://www.nasa.gov/content/goddard/hubble-sees-starbursts-in-the-wake-of-a-fleeting-romance>

This image from NASA/ESA's Hubble Space Telescope shows galaxy NGC 4485 in the constellation of Canes Venatici (The Hunting Dogs). The galaxy is irregular in shape, but it hasn't always been so. Part of NGC 4485 has been dragged towards a second galaxy, named NGC 4490 - which lies out of frame to the bottom right of this image. Between them, these two galaxies make up a galaxy pair called Arp 269. Their interactions have warped them both, turning them from spiral galaxies into irregular ones. NGC 4485 is the smaller galaxy in this pair, which provides a fantastic real-world example for astronomers to compare to their computer models of galactic collisions. The most intense interaction between these two galaxies is all but over; they have made their closest approach and are now separating. The trail of bright stars and knotty orange clumps that we see here extending out from NGC 4485 is all that connects them - a trail that spans some 24 000 light-years. Many of the stars in this connecting trail could never have existed without the galaxies' fleeting romance. When galaxies interact hydrogen gas is shared between them, triggering intense bursts of star formation. The orange knots of light in this image are examples of such regions, clouded with gas and dust. European Space Agency Credit: ESA/Hubble & NASA, Acknowledgement: Kathy van Pelt

NASA's Saucer-Shaped Craft Preps for Flight Test
 <http://www.nasa.gov/jpl/ldsd/flight-test-20140516/index.html>
NASA's Low-Density Supersonic Decelerator (LDSD) project, a rocket-powered, saucer-shaped test vehicle, has completed final assembly at the U.S. Navy's Pacific Missile Range Facility in Kauai, Hawaii. This experimental flight test is designed to investigate breakthrough technologies that will benefit future Mars missions, including those involving human exploration. Three weeks of testing, simulations and rehearsals are planned before the first launch opportunity on the morning of June 3.
