Good morning all,
 I just wanted to quickly let everyone in the area know there is a Delta IV scheduled for 6:59 tonight, you can go to http://www.spaceflightnow.com/ for the latest on the mission as well as so many other great links and space news...this is not a NASA mission so there won't be any coverage by NASA TV. NASA TV will cover a supply ship launch loaded with more than seven tons of supplies for the station crew, ATV-5 is scheduled to launch on an Ariane 5 rocket at 7:47 p.m. EDT Tuesday, July 29, from Kourou, French Guiana (8:47 p.m. local time). NASA TV coverage will begin at 7:15 p.m. and include commentary from both NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston and ESA's launch provider, Arianespace. I hope you are all having a great day and week, everything is excellent here, always smiling and having fun :) We have to remember to always do our best, enjoy everything we do, live in the present, keep things in perspective, make each day special, smile & have fun! gabe

NASA's Orion spacecraft crew module has been stacked on the service module inside the Operations and Checkout Building at Kennedy Space Center -- renamed on July 21, 2014 as the Neil Armstrong Operations and Checkout Building in honor of the legendary astronaut and first man to set foot on the moon, Neil Armstrong. The Operations and Checkout Building was built in 1964. The facility has played a vital role in NASA's spaceflight history. The high bay was used during the Apollo program to process and test the command, service and lunar modules. The facility is being used today to process and assemble NASA's Orion spacecraft as the agency prepares to embark on the next giant leap in space exploration, sending astronauts to an asteroid and Mars. On July 23, 1999, a little more than seven hours after Space Shuttle Columbia and its five astronauts were launched from the Kennedy Space Center, NASA's Chandra X-Ray Observatory was successfully deployed by the STS-93 crew. Chandra was spring-ejected from a cradle in the shuttle's cargo bay at 6:47 a.m. Central time, as Columbia flew over the Indonesian island chain. Commander Eileen Collins, the first female Shuttle Commander, maneuvered Columbia to a safe distance away from the telescope as an internal timer counted down to the first of a two-phase ignition of the solid-fuel Inertial Upper Stage (IUS). The IUS lit up as scheduled at 7:47 a.m., and a few minutes later, shut down as planned, sending Chandra on a highly elliptical orbit which was refined over the next few weeks by a series of firings of telescope thrusters, designed to place Chandra in an orbit about 6900 x 87,000 statute miles above the Earth. Since its deployment, Chandra has helped revolutionize our understanding of the universe through its unrivaled X-ray vision. Chandra, one of NASA's current "Great Observatories," along with the Hubble Space Telescope and Spitzer Space Telescope, is specially designed to detect X-ray emission from hot and energetic regions of the universe. In this photograph, the five STS-93 astronauts pose for the traditional inflight crew portrait on Columbia's middeck. In front are astronauts Eileen M. Collins, mission commander, and Michel Tognini, mission specialist representing France's Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales (CNES). Behind them are (from the left) astronauts Steven A. Hawley, mission specialist; Jeffrey S. Ashby, pilot; and Catherine G. (Cady) Coleman, mission specialist. In the background is a large poster depicting the Chandra X-Ray Observatory. NEOWISE Spots a Comet That Looked Like an Asteroid
 <http://www.nasa.gov/jpl/neowise/comet-catalina-20140723/index.html>
Comet C/2013 UQ4 (Catalina) has been observed by NASA's Near-Earth Object Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (NEOWISE) spacecraft just one day after passing through its closest approach to the sun. The comet glows brightly in infrared wavelengths, with a dust tail streaking more than 62,000 miles (100,000 kilometers) across the sky. Its spectacular activity is driven by the vaporization of ice that has been preserved from the time of planet formation 4.5 billion years ago.

The Most Precise Measurement of an Alien World's Size
 <http://www.nasa.gov/jpl/spitzer/kepler/precise-measurement-alien-world-20140723/index.html>
Thanks to NASA's Kepler and Spitzer Space Telescopes, scientists have made the most precise measurement ever of the radius of a planet outside our solar system. The size of the exoplanet, dubbed Kepler-93b, is now known to an uncertainty of just 74 miles (119 kilometers) on either side of the planetary body. The findings confirm Kepler-93b as a "super-Earth" that is about one-and-a-half times the size of our planet.

Chandra X-ray Observatory Celebrates 15th Anniversary

Chandra, one of NASA's current "Great Observatories," along with the Hubble Space Telescope and Spitzer Space Telescope, is specially designed to detect X-ray emission from hot and energetic regions of the universe. With its superb sensitivity and resolution, Chandra has observed objects ranging from the closest planets and comets to the most distant known quasars.

Think Global Flight Resumes Around the World Flight to Promote Education

July 22, 2014, Burbank, CA. USA: Think Global Flight, in partnership with Ardwin Freight will depart from Burbank, CA for completion of its around the world flight to promote and inspire students in a Citation Mustang under Captain Judy Rice's command. Second Officer will be Ardwin Freight president and owner, Edwin Sahakain.

This effort was launched in a Cirrus SR20 donated by Guidance Aviation of Prescott, AZ and Baton Rouge, LA. The national tour was completed in a Cirrus SR22T, donated by Ascension Aircraft at Peachtree DeKalb airport in Atlanta. The addition of Ardwin Freight's Citation Mustang broadens a greater representation of general aviation completing the flight in various aircraft.

Captain Rice and Navigator Fred Nauer recently completed Think Global Flight's national tour across the

nation interacting with students discussing careers in aviation and the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S.T.E.M) education.

VIP supporters present during the Think Global Flight official launch at SUN 'n FUN included Astronaut Buzz Aldrin. Voyager Pilot Dick Rutan, and Tuskegee Airman Charles McGee. Supporters and endorsers include some of the following:Ascension Aircraft,Air Journey, AOPA, AVweb, Jeppesen, Spidertracks, Sennheiser, and Signature Flight Support.

In support of the effort, Buzz Aldrin will join the Crew on its global journey. Buzz shares his support, "Back when I was privileged to be a part of the Apollo program no one had ever heard of S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). S.T.E.M. is exactly the focus of Think Global Flight (TGF) reaching over 20,000 students and why I strongly support Captain Judy and TGF."

Think Global Flight has set up Student Command Centers around the world, allowing teachers, students, and others to participate with the flight through the Think Global Flight APP for iPhone, Androids, and iPads. Currently, there are 20,000 participants in 25 countries and 31 U.S. States.

To follow the around the world flight in real time, download the Think Global Flight APP for iOS and Android devices by searching "Think Global Flight App" on your mobile device and download for free.
